Bombay Fitness Project now has its own in-house Yoga expert

We now have our own Yoga expert!!!

Hello people! I know it’s been quite some time since you’ve heard from me but here I am bringing you something new and different.

I want to introduce you’ll to a devout Yogi and friend, Jenil Dholakia. She’s been a practitioner and teacher for a while now and will be one of the new contributor’s to Bombay Fitness Project.

Yoga is and has been one of the best means to achieve that balance between your body and your mind. I firmly believe it is something that would surely help the followers gain some more knowledge and understanding on the subject of Yoga.

Without any further ado, here’s Jenil with her take on Yoga.

Jenil : I found yoga, as most of us do, almost by accident. I began practicing as a way to deal with daily stress & remain fit. As I pursued it formally, I discovered how much more there was to yoga then just its physical aspect. Yoga has provided me the tools to take what I have learnt on the mat which is strength, focus, flexibility, compassion & patience and to apply it in the world where it really counts.

This exploratory quest finally led me to the land of yoga; Rishikesh, where I underwent an intensive teacher training programme. From the banks of holy Ganga to the backdrop of the mighty Himalayas – from the highly experienced gurus to the varied mix of fellow students – from the unlearning to the learning – every day was a step further in this journey!

I wish to give back to others what yoga has sparked in me. Through my teachings, I want to continue sharing this love of yoga with the world.

I teach what I know, what I love and what I practice. A typical class incorporates asanas with attention to body alignment, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy and world inspired music.

It is my intention to have students leave the class feeling grounded and balanced. To feel the innumerable benefits in their daily lives & not just on the mat.A happy class will be the one that is filled with people of all ages, languages, and cultures – where all bodies are welcome and our common spirit is celebrated.

I truly believe that yoga is a practice that meets you where you are and takes you where you want to go. Namaste!
